OUR MISSION
The mission of Skywoman's Forever Farm is to create solutions and projects that are 100% responsive to the urgent needs of the Kanien’kehá:ka people.
Our land in Akwesasne is polluted by one of the largest PCB dumps in North America. Our soils and waterways are no longer viable and we see the effects of this today in the declining health of our people and land. It has been a long-held dream of our people to return to Ioskóhare. In this place of renewal, we have raised a Longhouse built in the old ways next to a sacred waterfall which has called us back to cleanse and fortify our spirits. Ioskóhare is a place of still-wild forests and rivers, where our people can heal as we return to our ancestral lands and re-remember who we are. Land back isn’t only about getting land back, it’s about reclaiming our spirits as original beings of these lands.
OUR VISION
Skywoman's Forever Farm is a 61 acre fruit farm located on one of our ancestal Kanienkeháka Turtle Clan Villages in Iohskóhare, on the Schoharie Creek. It is also home to Wahianiíontha Tsi Iohontsiaká:ien Learning Center. We are embracing and embedding the principles of Onkwehonwenéha, and working towards the goal of sending clean food home to our communities.
